In Our Memory and Prayer...
The Right Rev. Jan Dawidziuk was born in Poland, on November 23, 1937. He graduated from high school in 1954 and entered the Theological Seminary in Siedlce to prepare for the priesthood. Having completed six years of studies in the seminary he was ordained to the Holy Priesthood. In 1981 Fr. Dawdziuk migrated to the United States. In May of 1982 he was accepted into the Polish National Catholic Church. From 1982 through 1986 Bishop Dawidziuk was assigned to Sts. Cyril & Methodius PNCC in St. Louis and Our Savior PNCC in Mosinee, Wi. In 1986 Fr. Dawdziuk was assigned as Pastor of St. Mary’s PNCC in Parma, Ohio. In 1999 at a Special Synod of the PNCC Fr. Dawidziuk was elected Bishop of the Polish National Catholic Church. On November 30, 1999 Bishop Dawdziuk was consecrated Bishop. In March of 2003 Bishop Dawidziuk was assigned as the Bishop Ordinary of the Western Diocese and Pastor of All Saints Cathedral in Chicago. In June 2009 Bishop Dawdziuk retired from the active priesthood and settled in the Cleveland area to be with his family. On March 6, 2012 our Lord Jesus Christ welcomed Bishop Jan home to that place that was prepared for him. We are sure He said “Well done good and faithful servant”. Bishop Jan is survived by his wife Anna and daughter Elizabeth.May Perpetual Light Shine Upon Him. May he rest in Peace
